The Poetry of Street PhotographyStreet Photography
Street photography is a lot like writing poetry.
Poetry, as you know, can be emotional, insightful, nonsensical and even outright hilarious.
The same can also be demonstrated through Street photography.
When I'm out on the streets, I always try to visually 'rhyme'
the scene before my eye has even reached camera's viewfinder.
I do the same when I'm selecting images to feature in my humble journals.


Finding poetry in your surroundings is tantamount to successful

Street Photography.
But that's just my opinion. ;)
So before feasting your eyes on the scrumptious assortment of Street delights presented for your

Josef KoudelkaAs you know, I normally don't do (features) Journals.
The exception goes to those photographers that had some historical importance in the photography World, those that influence(d) me, those that I believe can move others like they moved me, humanitarian photographers, and that normally live in the "shadow" of the same old Features and references.
"The maximum, that is what has always interested me." This is a quote by Josef Koudelka.
He was born in 1938 in Moravia and began photographing with a 6 x 6 Bakelite camera.
He staged his first photographic exhibition in 1961. Changed to a Rolleiflex camera and in 1967 decided to give up his career in engineering for full-time work as a photographer.
Awarded several times, was known for his exceptional photographs, which required an enourmous amount of courage.
Nomad at heart, he wandered around Europe with his camera and little else. In 1987 Koudelka became a French citizen and his work received support and acknowledgment from his friend, "

Master of photography, Ara Güler, has an archive of two million photos that he keeps in the third floor of an apartment inherited from his father. Born in Istanbul in 1928, Güler worked in a number of branches of filmmaking in various studios. In 1950 he began working as a journalist for daily Yeni Istanbul.
A graduate of the Istanbul University Faculty of Economics, Güler also worked as the near eastern photojournalist for Time-Life, Paris-Match and Der Stern magazines. In 1953, Güler met Henri Cartier Bresson and joined the Paris Magnum Agency.
Selected as “one of the world’s top seven photographers” in 1961 by the British-based Photography Annual Anthology, Güler was also accepted as the only Turkish member of the American Society of Media Phot

The Canon Female Photojournalist Award 2012 was granted by the Association of Female Journalists (AFJ) to Sarah Caron (France) for a project to report about Pashtun women (Pakistan).
The jury, which included Cyril Drouhet (Figaro Magazine), Magali Jauffret (L’Humanité), Delphine Lelu (Visa pour l'Image), Romain Lacroix (Grazia), Daphné Angles (New York Times) and from AFJ: Brigitte Huard, Catherine Lalanne (Pèlerin) and Florence Panoussian (AFP) met in Paris on 26th June 2012.
The prize, funded by Canon France and supported by Figaro Magazine, will be handed to the winner on 8th September 2012 in Perpignan at the 24th International Festival of Photojournalism Vi

...first came to my attention a good few months ago, mainly because of his glorious black and white photos and the fact that Joel's choice of medium is film over digital. He strolls the streets with his beloved Leica, coupled with a magnificent Summicron and a roll of Tri-X. This combination gives very appealing results to my eye. The amount of detail, sharpness and contrast is just amazing, his fine feel for composition very satisfying.. The pure fact that he can produce these amazing pieces with a fully manual camera and no built in light meter, is just incredible! And not just that... He also is very literate and knows his genre very well.

Joel: He’s quite boring in real life. He just works and also studies law…meaning he does not have a lot of free time. Other
Jean Dieuzaide: the light photographerMuch of his work was signed 'Yan'—his Resistance nickname from the Second World War—because he felt that photography might not be a respectable occupation. One of the few photographers to document the liberation of Toulouse in 1944, Dieuzaide soon became a professional photo-reporter, initially specializing in sports, then covering all the actualité.
  
But he was also a faithful recorder of his native south-western France, where his first book on Gascony was published in 1946, as well as its adjoining regions, especially Catalonia, Spain, and Portugal. His pictures of French and Spanish gitans are romantic evocations of their life and evidence of the admiration in which they were held following the war.
  
Dieuzaide's work veers between a classic French humanism and a more formal style of highly graphic imagery, particularly in his architectural work and studies of natural forms in the landscape, or in his astonishing book on the sometimes quasi-erotic shapes creat
